Deciding if blepharoplasty is the right procedure
Upper eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, can help people who are suffering from restricted peripheral vision, but is usually done cosmetically. Sometimes sagging eyelids aren’t caused by the eyelids themselves, but the skin above them. As you age, the skin on your forehead gradually sags downward and to the center, into the space of the upper eyelids. In these cases, an endoscopic brow lift will put the skin back where it should be. Only an experienced facial plastic surgeon can tell you if this is the what you need.
In a regular eye lift, the surgeon makes a cut along the fold of the upper eyelid and removes excess skin, fat and muscle. This is done under general anesthesia, obviously. If you want to undergo an eye lift, you should be healthy and have no medical conditions such as blurry vision, dry eye, double vision, diabetes or thyroid problems.
