Overview and Candidacy
Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure involving the nose. For candidates in the Charlotte, NC area who are unhappy about the appearance of their nose, cosmetic surgery may provide improved happiness and confidence. To qualify for rhinoplasty, you must have a fully developed nose, which takes place by ages 14-16 for females, and ages 16-18 for males. Before the surgery, your specialist will use computer imaging to help you visualize how you would like your nose to look. The surgeon will also examine both the inner and outer structure of your nose.
Patients in the Charlotte, NC area will likely have their rhinoplasty performed at The Center for Facial Plastic & Laser Surgery, which is a state-of-the-art, private operative suite. The operation involves removing, augmenting, or altering the bone and/or cartilage in the nose, which comprises its structure and shape. Usually, incisions are made inside the nose, but may also be made along the nostril creases and columella (the area between the nostrils), as needed.
